Ordering & Timeline

What's With the Palm Trees?

During my Mom's final days, she told me that I'll be able to find her on a beach, underneath a palm tree.

The palm tree has been our marker since her passing, and 'Love, Mandy' an extension of my heart to commemorate her.

What Is The Current Turn Around Time?

Turn around time is approximately 6-8 weeks from ordering.

Can I change or cancel my order after it's been placed?

Because each piece is custom and often made using irreplaceable materials, orders cannot be cancelled after 24 hours. Once I've received your inclusions and begun creating your stone, designs cannot be changed.

If you need to make a change, please reach out as soon as possible and I'll do my very best to help before your piece enters production.

What Happens If I Place an Order But Never Send My Inclusions?

Life happens and this process can be emotional. Your jewelry will be here for whenever you're ready.

Can I Preview My Design Before It's Made?

Absolutely. If you have a custom idea in mind, a vision you're trying to bring to life, or specific elements that really matter to you, we can work through that together either before or after you place your order.

I'm happy to help visualize your idea by discussing layout and placement, sharing rough visual references, or sending examples of similar designs to help guide the direction. This collaborative step is there to make sure your piece feels aligned and meaningful before it's created.

Shipping & Inclusions

How Do I Send My Inclusions From the U.S?

If you're ordering from the U.S, don't worry, sending your inclusions to Canada is easier than it sounds! Within 24 hours of placing your order, you'll receive a detailed email with step-by-step instructions on how to safely and securely package your materials, plus where to send them.

Please avoid using UPS, FedEx, Purolator, or other couriers that are not USPS, as they charge additional brokerage and duties fees. If your inclusions are sent this way and I'm charged a fee to receive the, that amount will be invoiced back to you.

For smooth, simple shipping, I always recommend using USPS (with tracking).
Note: If sending ashes, USPS is the only legal option for mailing cremated remains international. You may also be required to ship using Priority Mail services when declaring cremated remains at the post office, which will include tracking information!

How Do I Send My Inclusions Internationally?

If you're ordering from outside Canada or the U.S., International shipping of inclusions is possible, but requirements vary by country.

Some countries have restrictions on mailing certain inclusions (such as ashes or breastmilk), so it's important to check your local postal and customs regulations before sending anything. If you're unsure, you're always welcome to reach out and I'm happy to help look into this for you.

Once your order is placed, you'll receive a detailed email within 24 hours with step-by-step packing and shipping instructions tailored to your country or region, including what to include in your package and how to ship it safely.

Do I Need to Pay to Send in My Inclusions?

Yes, mailing your inclusions is your responsibility, and any shipping costs associated with sending your materials to me are not included in your order total.

I offer free shipping with tracking information on all completed keepsake orders within Canada and the U.S, but the cost to send in your inclusions is up to you.

if your package incurs any duties or customs fees upon arrival, I'll invoice you for the exact amount before beginning your piece. I never mark up or add handling fees, just the amount charged by customs, if applicable (this typically happens when using couriers such as UPS, FedEx, etc..)

What Countries Can Send Inclusions To You?

I currently accept inclusions from most countries. However, shipping regulations vary by country and inclusions type.

For example:

  • Germany: I can accept breastmilk and other non-restricted inclusions, but ashes cannot be shipped from Germany.
  • China: At this time, ashes cannot be accepted from China.

Regulations can change and may differ depending on the inclusions type (ashes vs. breastmilk vs. hair, etc...). Because of this, I don't list every country individually.

If you're unsure whether your specific inclusion can be sent from your country, please reach out before shipping. I'm always happy to confirm what is and isn't possible so your inclusions aren't delayed or returned.

What Happens If My Inclusion Package is Delayed or Held At Customs?

Custom delays are rare and can occasionally happen. While I can't intervene with customs directly, I'll always do my best to support you and communicate when your inclusions arrive.

It's important to follow the directions for packing, labeling, and shipping your inclusions internationally.

I always recommend sending your inclusions with tracking, and you're more than welcome to share the tracking number with me so that I can help you keep an eye on your package, or be able to contact the postal service here in Canada if there are any delays.

Materials & Keepsake Info

What is Gold Filled?

“Gold Filled” is a regulated standard that legally requires 1/20th, or 5% pure gold by weight. This durable material is created by pressure- bonding multiple layers of solid 14k gold to a high- quality jeweler's brass core using extreme heat. The result is a long- lasting high- quality product that looks and feels like solid gold.

Gold-filled jewelry is a superior alternative to gold- plated pieces, containing nearly 100% more gold. It is hypoallergenic and water- safe, offering the same desirable qualities as sold gold.

Additionally, it is a great choice for those with sensitive skin, as it can be worn without concerns about allergic reactions.

What is 925 Sterling Silver?

Sterling silver is 92.5% silver and 7.5% alloy. This 7.5% is usually made of copper or zinc. The addition of these other metals makes sterling silver significantly stronger and more durable.

Whenever you see something advertised as "silver-plated" it most often means that the piece itself is made of another metal, and there's simply a thin layer of sterling silver "plated" on top of the item.

All of our silver pieces are made with '925 Sterling Silver', never 'silver-plated'. They are hypoallergenic and made to last!

What's the Difference Between Inclusions & Enhancements?

Inclusions are the personal elements you send in, like ashes, breatmilk, pregnancy tests, etc...

Enhancements are design elements added to the stone to elevate its look and make it even more personal to you. These include things like shimmers, pigments, foils, and flakes, and can be customized to reflect your style or tell more of your story.

Sizing & Customization

How Do I Know What Size Ring I Wear?

You can use a tape measure to estimate the band size of your finger or, for more accurate results, use the free 'Ring Sizer' app to measure a ring that already fits you. For precise sizing, visit your nearest jeweler.

Can I Resize My Rings In The Future?

It can be done! You need to find a jeweler who can specifically do laser resizing, where they don't heat up the stones or dip them in chemicals. This does not work for tungsten or eternity style bands.

Can I Add Multiple Inclusions or Enhancements to One Stone?

Yes, you can add multiple inclusions to your keepsake stone!

You can also combine milk from different breastfeeding journeys, add both breastmilk and colostrum. breatmilk and formula, milk and ashes, milk and pregnancy tests, etc...

Can You Use Photos, Letters, or Paper In Jewelry?

Yes, paper-based items can be used in some cases, but it's important to understand how they behave when preserved.

Items like ultrasound photos, handwritten notes, or letters are sometimes cut down and embedded directly, or sealed first before being set in resin. I've also created pieces using delicate materials like tissue paper.

Because paper is organic and reacts differently depending on thickness, ink, and condition, results can vary. I'll always talk through the options with you beforehand, explain what's possible, and help you decide on the safest and most meaningful approach for preserving your item.

Care & Longevity

Jewelry Care Instructions

  • Remove your jewelry before sleeping.
  • Do not scrub, soak or submerge under water.
  • Store in a box or in a bag, in a cool & dry place.
  • Remove before a workout.
  • Avoid harsh chemicals such as: alcohol- based wipes, cleaners & sanitizer, smoke, chlorine, and oils.
  • Clean and polish with a soft cloth, like the one provided with your jewelry.

Can the Stone Change Colour?

Milk and ash stones are made using high quality jeweller's resin. Over time all resin will become warmer in colour due to exposure to air, UV rays, humidity and heat. Our resin contains UV inhibitors to resist yellowing for a long period of time.

Due to the nature of resin, any jewelry containing it will always yellow slightly over time (no matter what anyone may tell you!). With proper care, this change is only minor and will happen slowly over years.

Yellowing only occurs on the outside layer that's in contact with the environment.

Can I Shower, Swim, or Sleep In My Jewelry?

To protect your keepsake, I recommend removing it before showering, swimming, exercising, or applying lotions and perfumes. These steps help preserve both the metal and the keepsake stone.

Will My Jewelry Last If I Wear It Every Day?

Keepsake jewelry is designed to be worn and cherished, but it is not indestructible.

Gold filled materials are designed to be very durable, and neither gold filled or sterling silver will tarnish. However, daily wear over time will naturally show on the stone, so treating your piece gently and following care instructions will help it last for many, many years.

Order Confidence & Authenticy

How Do I Know It's My Inclusions in My Jewelry?

The authenticity of your keepsake is taken very seriously.

It's important to label your inclusions with your name and order number before sending them.

When your inclusions arrive they're attached to your order form and they stay with your form throughout the entire process.

Each piece of jewelry is created one at a time, with care and respect!

Do You Offer Any Warranties On The Keepsake Jewelry?

Yes, I do!

Every keepsake comes with a 3 or 6 month limited warranty that covers any craftmanship or material defects, things like loose settings, resin issues, or chain faults that appear shortly after delivery.

This Process Feels Emotional, What If I'm Struggling?

That's completely understandable. Many clients come to me during tender seasons of grief, healing, or transition. You're always welcome to share as much or as little as you'd like, and I'll meet you with kindness and respect throughout the process.

What Makes Love, Mandy Different?

Love, Mandy was created from lived experience, not just craftmanship. Every piece I make is shaped by the seasons of life I've walked through myself: grief, loss, infertility, motherhood, and love that continues beyond presence. This isn't just a service to me, it's an exchange of hearts.

Here's what sets Love, Mandy apart:

  • Quality you can trust
I use gold filled materials, not gold plated. That means thicker layers of gold bonded to the metal, designed to hold up to daily wear for many years when properly cared for. My pricing is competitive without compromising quality.
  • Transparency at every step
I believe you deserve to feel confident and informed. I double-check my work carefully, communicate openly, and if you'd like, I can share photos of your finished piece before it's mailed, or keep the reveal a surprise. You're always part of the process in the way that feels right for you.
  • A deeply intentional memorialization process
Your inclusions are never treated as materials alone. I invite you to share photos, letters, or stories about your loved on or journey, and I hold that context close while creating. I light a candle, work with intention, and treat every inclusions with reverence and respect.
  • Experience and professionalism
I'm knowledgeable about inclusions, materials, and preservation, and I continue learning and refining my process. The FAQ's, blog posts, and educational content I share are part of my commitment to doing this work thoughtfully and responsibly.
  • Compassion back by accountability
I know what it feels like to receive keepsake jewelry and feel disappointed, and I never want that for my clients. While handmade work is human and imperfections can happen, I stand behind my work fully and approach any concern with care, honesty, and solutions.

At Love, Mandy, you're not just receiving a piece of jewelry, you're receiving something created with skill, intentions, transparency, and so. much. heart. Meant to be worn, held, close, and trusted for years to come.
