What is Gold- Filled?
“Gold Filled” is a regulated standard that legally requires 1/20th, or 5% pure gold by weight. This durable material is created by pressure- bonding multiple layers of solid 14k gold to a high- quality jeweler's brass core using extreme heat. The result is a long- lasting high- quality product that looks and feels like solid gold.
Gold-filled jewelry is a superior alternative to gold- plated pieces, containing nearly 100% more gold. It is hypoallergenic and water- safe, offering the same desirable qualities as sold gold.
Additionally, it is a great choice for those with sensitive skin, as it can be worn without concerns about allergic reactions.
What is Sterling Silver?
Sterling silver is 92.5% silver and 7.5% alloy. This 7.5% is usually made of copper or zinc. The addition of these other metals makes sterling silver significantly stronger and more durable.
Whenever you see something advertised as "silver-plated" it most often means that the piece itself is made of another metal, and there's simply a thin layer of sterling silver "plated" on top of the item.
All of our silver pieces are made with '925 Sterling Silver', never 'silver-plated'. They are hypoallergenic and made to last!
What's With the Palm Trees?
During my Mom's final days, she told me that I'll be able to find her on a beach, underneath a palm tree.
The palm tree has been our marker since her passing, and 'Love, Mandy' an extension of my heart to commemorate her.
How Do I know What Size Ring I Am?
You can use a tape measure to estimate the band size of your finger or, for more accurate results, use the free 'Ring Sizer' app to measure a ring that already fits you. For precise sizing, visit your nearest jeweler.
What Is The Current Turn Around Time?
Turn around time is approximately 6-8 weeks from ordering.
Can the Stone Change Colour?
Milk and ash stones are made using high quality jeweller's resin. Over time all resin will become warmer in colour due to exposure to air, UV rays, humidity and heat. Our resin contains UV inhibitors to resist yellowing for a long period of time.
Due to the nature of resin, any jewelry containing it will always yellow slightly over time (no matter what anyone may tell you!). With proper care, this change is only minor and with proper care, will happen slowly over years.
Yellowing only occurs on the outside layer that's in contact with the environment.
Can I Add Multiple Inclusions or Enhancements to One Stone?
Yes, you can add multiple inclusions to your keepsake stone!
You can also combine milk from different breastfeeding journeys, add both breastmilk and colostrum. breatmilk and formula, milk and ashes, milk and pregnancy tests, etc...
How Do I Know It's My Inclusions in My Jewelry?
The authenticity of your keepsake is taken very seriously.
It's important to label your inclusions with your name and order number before sending them.
When your inclusions arrive they're attached to your order form and they stay with your form throughout the entire process.
Each piece of jewelry is created one at a time, with care and respect!
What's the Difference Between Inclusions & Enhancements?
Inclusions are the personal elements you send in, like ashes, breatmilk, pregnancy tests, etc...
Enhancements are design elements added to the stone to elevate its look and make it even more personal to you. These include things like shimmers, pigments, foils, and flakes, and can be customized to reflect your style or tell more of your story.
How Do I Send My Inclusions From the U.S?
If you're ordering from the U.S, don't worry, sending your inclusions to Canada is easier than it sounds! Within 24 hours of placing your order, you'll receive a detailed email with step-by-step instructions on how to safely and securely package your materials, plus where to send them.
Please avoid using UPS, FedEx, Purolator, or other couriers that are not USPS, as they charge additional brokerage and duties fees. If your inclusions are sent this way and I'm charged a fee to receive the, that amount will be invoiced back to you.
For smooth, simple shipping, I always recommend using USPS (with tracking).
Note: If sending ashes, USPS is the only legal option for mailing cremated remains international. You may also be required to ship using Priority Mail services when declaring cremated remains at the post office, which will include tracking information!
Do I Need to Pay to Send in My Inclusions?
Yes, mailing your inclusions is your responsibility, and any shipping costs associated with sending your materials to me are not included in your order total.
I offer free shipping with tracking information on all completed keepsake orders within Canada and the U.S, but the cost to send in your inclusions is up to you.
if your package incurs any duties or customs fees upon arrival, I'll invoice you for the exact amount before beginning your piece. I never mark up or add handling fees, just the amount charged by customs, if applicable (this typically happens when using couriers such as UPS, FedEx, etc..)
